About the Author

Hi all, I'm Steve Hardy. I'm a thirty-ish year old computer analyst/programmer/administrator from England. The picture below is of me standing next to HMS Victory in Portsmouth. I was born just outside Birmingham (NO, I'm not a brummie!!!) and moved to the south of England in 1989 to get work.

I've been working in the British nuclear industry for over ten years, The first ten years involving radiation dosimetry. In the job I did systems analysis & programming as well as administering a UNIX network and an NT network. I am also well versed in many of the scientific methods used in radiation dosimetry.

I recently, April 2001, changed jobs to concentrate on my computing skills. I am now a Webmaster running the company's intranet.

I started roleplaying at school in 1983, and have been playing ever since, both as a player and a GM. I started playing Rolemaster, the game used in my campaign world, in 1990 and haven't looked back since.

The Gwelith campaign world isn't my first fully fleshed-out world, but is the first to see life on the internet. Design began in early 1997 and actual gaming in mid 1997. The campaign has continued on and off since then. All work is entirely original and any similarity to other works is accidental.

I have recently got into 3D modeling and graphics. All backgrounds and graphics are original and have been created by me, except for a few 3D objects in the PC pictures.

The web site and graphics were designed using the following software:

  • Dreamweaver CS2
  • Corel Paint Shop Pro X2
  • E-frontier's Poser 7
  • DAZ Bryce 5.5
  • Vue 6 Infinite
  • Rhino v2.
