The Sammat

The Sammat were the chosen people of Phaedra and their empire was the greatest in living history, at it's height spanning two-thirds of the globe.

In a little over five hundred years, the Sammat formulated most of the magical theory we know today. Their focus on the magical arts led to their eventual demise when a mis-cast spells weakened the wards on the Rift, creating a magical backlash that killed or crippled most of the Sammat population.

The empire was finally destroyed by Balor's legions of goblins.

Apart from a few scholars and powerful mages, few people will know little of the Sammat other than their name. The only reminder of their empire are the carved monoliths and henges that dot the globe.
